Arsenal – Tottenham

Arsenal hosts Tottenham Hotspur in a match from the 12th round of the English Premier League. This is the big derby of North London and we are expecting to witness some great football at the Emirates Stadium. Because these two teams always tend to deliver some high emotions to the fans.

Arsenal are currently 6th in the Premier League standings with 19 points won so far. The Gunners are currently on 12 points behind the leader Manchester City, so we could say that they are very much out of the title race already. But their big goal remains finishing in the Top 4 and qualifying for the next edition of the Champions League.

In the last round Arsenal suffered a defeat exactly against Manchester City, losing at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester. Right now Arsene Wenger’s team is on 3 points behind the 4th Chelsea, so they still have a chance to fight for the Top 4. But they shall remain consistent and win points on regular basis, if they want to keep this hope alive.

Tottenham on the other hand are doing a little bit better than Arsenal at the moment. Spurs are currently 3rd in the Premier League standings with 23 points. In their last five games Tottenham won four times and lost only once – against Manchester United at the Old Trafford.

Arsenal remain without the injured Santiago Cazorla, while Laurent Koscielny, Olivier Giroud, Rob Holding, David Ospina and Shkodran Mustafi remain doubtful for the match. The good news come from the recovery of Danny Welbeck and Calum Chambers, who are ready to return on the pitch.

Tottenham are without the injured Toby Alderweireld, while Jan Vertonghen, Harry Kane and Hugo Lorris have some problems before the North London derby. In the same time Victor Wanyama and Erik Lamela are once again fit and ready to play.
