Barcelona welcomes Sevilla
Fans are getting ready for another huge game at the Camp Nou, because on Sunday the champion Barcelona welcomes Sevilla in a match from the 8th round of La Liga.
At this moment Barcelona are 4th in the league standings, but only two points behind the leader Real Madrid. Ernesto Valverde’s team had some problems with its away form since the start of the campaign, but in the previous round Los Cules beat Getafe at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez and achieved a first win away from home. Luis Suarez and Junior Firpo scored for the Catalans.
Barca are approaching this derby against Sevilla in a good mood, because during the week they won against Inter Milan in the Champions League. At halftime the Italian team had an advantage in the result, but after the break Barca won the game with two goals from Luis Suarez.
The good news for Barcelona is the return of Lionel Messi. The Argentine genius played the whole game against Inter and even assisted for Suarez’ second goal. But it was visible that Messi is still not at one hundred percent ready.
At one point Sevilla were leading the La Liga standings, but after this Julen Lopetegui’s boys suffered two consecutive defeats. The Andalusians returned on the right path after a difficult 3-2 win against Real Sociedad at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan. Nolito, Lucas Ocampos and Franco Vasquez scored for Los Rojiblancos.
Barcelona’s manager Ernesto Valverde has a serious problem regarding his defense. Samuel Umtiti continues to be injured, while Clement Lenglet is missing the game against his former club because of suspension. This means that most likely the young Jean-Clair Todibo will get the chance to shine in the starting eleven on Sunday.
Can these problems in defense trouble Barcelona against Sevilla on Sunday? Surely this is a good chance for the visitors to take something from the fortress Camp Nou.
