Celta – Atletico Madrid
We are taking our attention to the Estadio Balaidos in Vigo where Celta will host Barcelona in a match from the 6th week of La Liga. Are you ready to preview this fixture with us?
Celta had an average start of the new season. Oscar Garcia’s team is currently 13th in the standings with 5 points and just one win from five games played. Celta started the 2020/21 season with bigger ambition, but so far they are not proving they are ready for something more during the campaign.
Just before the international break Celta suffered a second consecutive loss in the league. The club from Vigo traveled to face Osasuna, but the game in Pamplona ended with a 2-0 win for the hosts. Oscar had a reason to be dissapointed with his players – they didn’t show enough.
After two consecutive draws Atletico Madrid will try to get back to winning on Saturday. Los Colchoneros impressed in their first La Liga game and scored six against Granada, but only made draws in the next two games. These are not the results Diego Simeone wants to see from his players.
Joao Felix looks like an untouchable starter in Atletico Madrid’s line-up, but Simeone must once again choose between Luis Suarez and Diego Costa. In the last two matches he picked Suarez in the starting eleven, but the Uruguayan star didn’t score. It won’t be that surprising if this time Simeone decides to put Diego Costa in attack.
Maybe Atletico Madrid dissapointed in the last two rounds as they didn’t score any goals against Huesca and Villarreal, but they remain a team with a huge potential. Against Celta they will have another opportunity to get back in the right direction. Celta need the points, though. Oscar Garcia’s team will use every home game they have and this one is not an exception.
