Chelsea hosts Newcastle United
Chelsea hosts Newcastle United at the Stamford Bridge in a game from the 9th round of the Premier League.
After a difficult start of the new season under the management of Frank Lampard, it seems that Chelsea are starting to find a better rhythm lately. At this moment the Blues are in a run of four consecutive wins in all competitions, which is pretty positive. Could it be a sign that Lampard is now working better with his team?
In the previous round of the Premier League Chelsea showed the best they can do, beating Southampton with 4-1 at the St. Mary’s Stadium away from home. The young striker Tammy Abraham continued to perform in a brilliant way this season, scoring his 8th goal since the beginning of the campaign. Mason Mount, N’Golo Kante and Michy Batshuayi also put the ball in the net for the visitors.
At this moment Chelsea are 5th in the league with 14 points, but being on par with the 4th Leicester City and just one point behind the 3rd Arsenal. Maybe it’d be too much to talk about winning the league, but the Blues have a good chance to return to the Top 4 of the competition.
Newcastle United are travelling to London in a high mood after winning against Manchester United in the previous round. Steve Bruce’s boys escaped the relegation zone of the Premier League, recording a 1-0 win against the Red Devils at the St. James’ Park. The only goal in the game was scored by Matthew Longstaff in the 72th minute.
Mateo Kovacic, Andreas Christensen, Emerson and Antonio Rudiger are missing the game for Chelsea, while Isaac Hayden is suspended for the visitors.
We expect that Chelsea will continue to impress against Newcastle United in the Premier League on Saturday. The Blues are looking for a fifth consecutive win in all competition, so they are in a really good shape at the moment.
