Chelsea – Leicester City
Chelsea hosts Leicester City in a clash from the second round of the English Premier League. Let’s take a look at this fascinating game at the Stamford Bridge in the capital London.
For Chelsea this is a new era. Maurizio Sarri left the club after just one year, being replaced by one of Chelsea’s biggest legends Frank Lampard. The young manager won promotion to the Premier League with Derby County and he was quickly approached by the Blues.
But Lampard’s tenure as Chelsea managed didn’t start in the best way possible. His team faced Manchester United at the Old Trafford in the first round and conceded a humilating 0-4 loss. In his starting line-up Lampard chose a mixture between young and experienced players, but nothing worked for the visitors. It’s in Chelsea’s interest to forget about this game as quick as possible.
Another concern for Frank Lampard is the fact that his team played 120 minutes against Liverpool for the European Super Cup on Wednesday. Don’t be surprised if the manager makes some changes in his starting line-up, compared to the game against the Reds in Istanbul.
Meanwhile Leicester City started their campaign in the league with a draw. Brendan Rodgers’ team hosted Wolverhampton Wanderers at the King Power, but the game ended without any goals scored – 0-0. The summer signings Yoeri Tielemans and Ayoze Perez debuted for the Foxes, but Wolves proved once again that they are a team which is hard to beat.
We expect a very good game between Chelsea and Leicester on Saturday, because both teams have enough quality to stand their own ground. The Londoners will try to get back on their feet after their huge loss at the Old Trafford, but Leicester are not a team which easily loses. Let’s see, because it’s going to be interesting.
