Crystal Palace – Liverpool
Crystal Palace hosts Liverpool in a match from the second round of the English Premier League. Let’s have a look at this interesting game at the Selhurst Park in London.
Crystal Palace started the new campaign in the best way possible – with a win. They have won the London derby with Fulham at the Craven Cottage, beating the home team with 2-0. Jeffery Schlupp and Wilfred Zaha scored the two goals for Palace, making the manager Roy Hodgson happy and proud. But their next test is going to be much more difficult.
Can this be Liverpool’s year? This is the question which all of the Reds’ fans are asking. Last season Liverpool reached the final of the Champions League, but once again the team was not able to win its first domestic title since 1990. Everyone at the Anfield is hungry for a Premier League success, so it’s not surprising that this is the main goal in front of the manager Jurgen Klopp.
Liverpool started the new season with a win, crushing West Ham with 4-0 at home. The Senegalese international Sadio Mane scored two goals for the Reds, while Mohamed Salah and Daniel Sturridge added two more for the win. Against the Hammers Liverpool showed that they look as good as ever, maybe really ready to chase the title. Last season the Reds lost a lot of points in a stupid way, so now they have to fix that and be as consistent as they can. Otherwise, the title would remain just a dream.
Roy Hodgson has some problems before the game. Scott Dann is injured, while Jordan Ayew, Max Meyer, Jonathan Williams and Connor Wickham are all doubtful for the game.
Liverpool still can’t use the injured Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Ragnar Klavan, while Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip could miss the match because of injuries.
