Crystal Palace – Tottenham
Crystal Palace welcomes Tottenham in one of the London derbies of the English Premier League.
Sam Allardyce’s Palace are really in high spirits right now, after beating Liverpool at the legendary Anfield in the last round of the league. Liverpool’s ex-striker Christian Benteke scored the two goals for Palace and led his team to a really prestigious win at one of the most famous grounds in Europe.
The win over Liverpool allowed Crystal Palace to move to the 12th position in the Premier League. It was an important step for them to secure their place in the Premier League for just another season, but they still need to win a few more points, if they want ot be absolutely sure in their survival.
As for Tottenham, they remain Chelsea’s only rival for the title right now. Spurs are just on four points behind the leader, so their chances of winning the gold medals are still alive. But they need to be perfect until the end of the campaign, if they want to celebrate.
Mauricio Pochettino’s team is showing great form and won all of its last five games in the league, so most surely they will try to win against Palace as well.
The home team will be without the services of Scott Dann, Connor Wickham and Pape Souare, who are all injured. Loic Remy and Jonathan Benteke remain doubtful for the game.
Tottenham still can’t use Harry Winks and Erik Lamela, who are also recovering from their last injuries.
The win over Liverpool brought some calmness in Crystal Palace’s dressing room, but they are still not finished in their quest to secure survival. As for Tottenham, they do not have any other option, but win, if they want to remain in the fight with Chelsea for the league title.
