Hoffenheim faces Koln

Hoffenheim faces Koln at the PreZero Arena in a game from the 28th round of the Bundesliga. Let’s preview this fixture in the next few paragraphs, shall we?

Hoffenheim are still without a win since the league was restarted after the COVID-19 quarantine. Their home loss against Hertha BSC was followed by a 1-1 draw against the struggling Paderborn. It was not what they wanted for sure, but clearly it’s still better than a loss.

Hoffenheim were favourites against Paderborn, especially given the fact that Paderborn are at the bottom of the league. The game started perfectly for Hoffe as Robert Skov opened the score after just four minutes. Dennis Srbeny equalised just five minutes later, though.

Hoffenheim still can’t use some players for the next game. The striker Ishak Belfodil is sidelined with injury, while Sargis Adamyan and Andrej Kramaric are also unavaliable because of injury problems.

Koln on the other hand made two consecutive draws against Mainz 05 and Fortuna Dusseldorf after the quarantine. Both games ended with the same result – 2-2. With these two points the Billy Goats remain 10th in the league with 34 points, but being on par with the 11th Hertha BSC. Koln must start winning if they want to keep their place in the Top 10 of the Bundesliga.

Koln must be happy with the point against Fortuna Dusseldorf because after 88 minutes of playing they were two goals behind. The Billy Goats won the point after two late goals scored by Anthony Modeste and Jhon Cordoba. It was a lucky game for Markus Gisdol’s team, because Fortuna could have won all the points here.

That’s the preview for the Bundesliga clash between Hoffenheim and Koln on Wednesday. It’s a difficult game to predict as both teams are not showing their best shape at the moment. Maybe luck is going to be a big factor here, but let’s see.
