Lazio – Red Bull Salzburg

Lazio hosts Red Bull Salzburg in a match from the 1/4-finals of the Europa League. This game is going to be played at the legendary Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

Lazio are one of the strong contenders for the trophy this season. The Italians reached the 1/4-finals after eliminating Ukrainian giants Dynamo Kyiv from the competition. The first leg at Rome ended with a 2-2 draw, but a 2-0 win in Kyiv guaranteed a qualification to the next phase for Simone Inzaghi’s boys.

Before this Lazio enjoyed a dominating performance against Romania’s FCSB, despite of losing the first leg in Bucuresti.

In the Italian Serie A Lazio are also proving to be a very capable team. They are currently 5th in the league standings, trailing on just 2 points behind the 4th Inter. It means that Lazio still have chances to reach the Champions League and they will try to use them as much as they can.

Lately the Eagles are not in their best shape, winning just two of their last five games in the Calcio. Can they get back on their feet against Red Bull Salzburg in the Europa League?

Salzburg reached the 1/4-finals of the competition by surprisingly eliminating Borussia Dortmund in the previous round. Most of the people expected to see Dortmund dominating this tie, but a win on German soil and draw at home allowed Salzburg to qualify for the 1/4-finals.

The Austrian team proved to everyone that it is capable of making surprises. Can they make another one against Lazio as well? The Italians are a slight favourite in this tie, but what happened to Borussia Dortmund shall be a big warning to them.
