Manchester City won their last three games in the Premier League which put them in a much better position. Right now the Cityzens are 5th in the standings with 29 points, which puts them just 4 points behind the leader Liverpool. What’s more important here is the fact that City have two games in hand compared to the Reds.

In the previous round City won for a third consecutive time in the league. Pep Guardiola’s team faced Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge and went home with the three points after a terrific 3-1 win. Ilkay Gundogan, Phil Foden and Kevin De Bruyne scored for City in the first half.

During the weekend Man City progressed in the FA Cup as well. The Cityzens hosted Birmingham City at home and went through them with a 3-0 win.
