Manchester City won their last three games in the Premier League which put them in a much better position. Right now the Cityzens are 5th in the standings with 29 points, which puts them just 4 points behind the leader Liverpool. What’s more important here is the fact that City have two games in hand compared to the Reds.
In the previous round City won for a third consecutive time in the league. Pep Guardiola’s team faced Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge and went home with the three points after a terrific 3-1 win. Ilkay Gundogan, Phil Foden and Kevin De Bruyne scored for City in the first half.
During the weekend Man City progressed in the FA Cup as well. The Cityzens hosted Birmingham City at home and went through them with a 3-0 win. Phil Foden scored again while Bernardo Silva put the ball twice in the net. For Manchester City this was a sixth consecutive win in all competitions. It seems that Guardiola’s team is hitting peak form since the beginning of the season.
Brighton & Hove Albion are in a difficult situation and they need points – as much as they can get. Right now the Seagulls are 17th in the Premier League standings with 14 points which puts them just 3 points ahead of the 18th Fulham.
We can easy make the conclusion that this is Manchester City’s game to lose. Just like we said the Cityzens are hitting peak form and they look very good lately. Yes – Brighton & Hove Albion will do their best, but Guardiola’s team is in a pole position for the three points here.
