Manchester United – Sheffield United
Manchester United hosts Sheffield United at the Old Trafford in a fixture from the 31th round of the Premier League. The Red Devils will try to achieve their first win since the COVID-19 quarantine break. Let’s take a look at this game.
Manchester United returned on the pitch with a 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur in London. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team was losing in the scoresheet, but a late penalty kick, executed by Bruno Fernandes, allowed them to win a point. With this point United remain 5th in the Premier League standings, but now they are on par with the 6th Wolverhampton Wanderers – both teams have 46 points won. It seems that the fight for the Top 5 is going to be intense.
Paul Pogba returned on the pitch against Tottenham. The influental French midfielder replaced Fred and helped his team to win the point in the capital. We won’t be surprised if Pogba find himself in the starting eleven for the next game.
Sheffield United are another team which fights for the Top 5 and a qualification for the Champions League. Surprisingly for everyone, right now the Blades are 7th in the standings with 44 points – just two points behind the 5th Manchester United. For Sheffield United this match at the Old Trafford comes as a great opportunity.
Sheffield United also restarted their season with a draw. Chris Wilder’s team paid a visit to the struggling Aston Villa, but only achieved a 0-0 draw at the Villa Park. Just few days after the Blades didn’t perform very well, because they got crushed with 0-3 during their visit to Newcastle United. Nothing good expects Sheffield United if they play in the same way at the Old Trafford.
We expect a good game between Manchester United and Sheffield United on Wednesday. The Blades dissapointed with their performance against Newcastle, but now they will try to do better against Ole Gunnar Solskajer’s side.
