Porto – Feyenood
Porto faces Feyenood in a very intriguing game from Group G of Porto faces Feyenood. This match is going to be played at the beautiful Estadio Do Dragao in Porto on Thursday. Here is what we can tell you about it.
Both teams are fighting for their chances to qualify for the knockout phase of the competition. Right now Porto are second with 7 points, while Feyenoord are fourth with 5 points won. This means that both teams have good chances to achieve their goal. It’s a little bit more complicated for the Dutch side because they must seek a win away from home.
Two wins, one draw and two defeats – this is Porto’s record in Group G so far. In the previous round the Dragons enjoyed a vital win against Young Boys on Swiss soil. Until the 75th minute the Portuguese team was one goal down, but Vincent Aboubakar scored two quick goals for four minutes and secured the win for the visitors. Moussa Marega provided both assists.
Feyenoord are 4th in the group, but how we said – a win in Portugal would allow them to qualify for the knockout phase. It won’t be easy but Feyenoord already won once against Porto. This happened in October when they were still managed by Jaap Stam. Jens Toornstra and Rick Karsdorp scored for the hosts and it is Feyenoord’s only win in the group so far.
During the weekend Porto lost two points in the Portuguese Primeira Liga during their visit to Belenenses. Alex Telles scored from a penalty kick for the Dragons, but the game ended with a 1-1 draw.
In the same time Feyenoord also made a draw in their last game in the Dutch Eredivisie. Dick Advocaat’s team visited Vitesse and only won a point with a 0-0 draw.
That’s what we had to say about the Europa League clash between Porto and Feyenoord on Thursday. We wish you good luck!
