Porto – Roma

We are taking our attention to the Estadio Do Dragao in Porto, where we are going to witness a second 1/8-finals leg from the Champions League between Porto and Roma. The Italians have a slight advantage after the first game at the Stadio Olimpico, which they won with 2-1. But this result gives the Portuguese team some solid chances as well.

Everything interesting at the Olimpico happened in the last 20 minutes of the game. Roma’s new star Nicolo Zaniolo put the Wolves ahead with two goals between the 70th and the 76th minutes, proving that he’s a young player with terrific future. This result was perfect for Roma, but just three minutes after the second goal, they conceded. Tiquinho passed the ball to Adrian, who didn’t have problems to beat Antonio Mirante – 2-1.

Now Porto are in a much better situation than they were in a certain moment of the first game. The Dragons are aware that just one goal could send them to the 1/4-finals, but only if they don’t concede as well. But Porto’s preparations for this game were not perfect as they lost at home the derby against Benfica in Primeira Liga just few days ago.

As for Roma, it will be very risky for them to play for 0-0 at the Do Dragao. The manager Eusebio Di Francesco is aware that his team should not bet only on defense for the second leg. The Wolves have some terrific offensive players, who are able to do some damage in attack. Roma shall rely on them as well.

That’s our thoughts on the Champions League second 1/8-finals leg between Porto and Roma on Wednesday night. The Italian team have a slight advantage after the first leg, but only one goal could change everything at the Do Dragao.
