Sheffield United – Chelsea

Sheffield United hosts Chelsea at the Bramall Lane in a game from the 35th week of the Premier League. Let’s see what we can tell you about this match in the city of Sheffield.

Sheffield United will remember fondly this season. It’s their first since their promotion to the Premier League and they did more than good. Right now the Blades are 7th in the standings with 51 points, being just one point behind the 6th Wolverhampton Wanderers.

It’s fantastic what the manager Chris Wilder and his players did. Most of the pundits thought that Sheffield United will be in the relegation battle, but they proved to be much more – contenders for an Europa League qualification.

In the previous round the Blades scored their 13th win for the season when they hosted Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Bramall Lane. The win came in the 93th minute of the game when John Egan scored a very late winner. Oliver Norwood provided the assist for Egan’s goal. It was a really dramatic end of the match.

Chelsea are now third in the league after their win over Crystal Palace in the previous round. The Blues overtook Leicester City and they have 60 points now. It’s a solid debut season for the manager Frank Lampard, there’s no doubt about that.

On Tuesday Chelsea had a London derby against Crystal Palace which they won with 3-2 at the Selhurst Park. Olivier Giroud, Christian Pulisic and Tammy Abraham scored for the Blues. It was a really good game for Willian, too, who made two assist for his team.

That’s not going to be an easy game for Chelsea on Saturday. They are visiting a very tough ground to play at, no doubt about that. Sheffield United are great this season, so Chelsea must give their all if they want to win at the Bramall Lane.
