Verona – Lazio
Verona welcomes Lazio in a game from the 6th round of the Italian Serie A.
Verona are one of the newcomers in the Serie A this season, but we can’t say that they started the new season in the most positive way possible. They haven’t won even one game in the first five rounds. Their record at the moment is two draws and three losses. They are currently 18th in the standings with just two points won. For now it seems that Verona will be one of the teams who will fight against relegation this season. In their last game they made a 0-0 draw against Sampdoria at home.
Lazio are a team with totally different goals in front of them. Simone Inzaghi’s team is 6th in the standings with 10 points won in the first five rounds. They have a record of three wins, one draw and one loss. In their last game Lazio suffered a heavy 1-4 loss against Napoli at home.
Despite of this, Lazio’s goals remain clear – finish in the Top 4 and qualifying for the Champions League. It’s going to be a tough road ahead, but they have a good enough squad to do it. All they need is consistency and maybe a little bit of luck.
There are some injury problems in Verona’s team right now. Martin Caceres, Alex Ferrari, Mohamed Fares, Gian Filippo Felicioli and Nicolo Cherubin are all doubtful for the match on Sunday. It’s still not clear which ones of them are going to be avaliable for the tough battle against Lazio.
As fo Lazio, Simone Inzaghi can’t use the injured Wallace and Felipe Anderson. Dusan Basta, Stefan De Vrij and Bastos are doubtful for the match. They are probably going to have a late fitness test to determine if they could play.
